What does God have in mind for me? As we go through life, many of us ask the question, “Now what do I do?” We may be in a crossroad in our lifes or we may be stuck right where we were for years.

I do realize that the more I learn about God and His redemptive plan, and how that includes His wonderful love for us, the more I realize that - I need to respond with love and with obedience, trust and a sense of awe. His love and grace are truly amazing to me. Even in my sin, God has blessed me. The idea that God’s love included His divine plan for Jesus to die on a cross and take the burden of my sin from me, is mind boggling to me!

God in His wonderful comprehensive glory IS almighty God, and He is Holy, Holy, Holy. God cannot tolerate or associate with sin. His holiness runs totally contrary to sin. But God in His genius plan foreknew this. The second member of the Trinity Godhead-Jesus – was to pay this price for human sinfulness Himself. God’s redemptive plan included Himself – or the person of Jesus – who better to pay this sin price but God Himself in the person of Jesus. This is brilliant! What a tremendous gift God has given to us, all we need to do is take it. If we ever question God’s love for us, re-examine the fact that God –in Christ- died a horrible death for our benefit, and then offered this redemption to all of us for the taking. So, if you are at a point in your life that you are asking yourself this question, “Now what do I do?” I believe that it would be beneficial to embrace this truth of Christ’s death as a love gift to you, so you can restore the relationship that was originally intended to be between you and your God.

I have taken this gift and now I wish to live an obedient life in submission to Him. This is a step by step process, starting with a sincere, genuine heart-filled confession and a realization that ‘Yes, Lord I am a miserable sinner, and I do need a Savior’. We need to come to that point before any good answers come to us. If you are not there in your life, I invite you to take another look and fully examine your heart.

After you realize by a full self examination, that you do indeed need a Savior in Jesus, a second event must occur…one must submit to both the Lordship of Jesus and His saving power. What do I mean? Just saying the words “I need a savior” is just the start, taking Jesus as both Lord AND Savior is the next step. Acceptance and submission of our lives to Jesus Christ is the next step in answering our question.
Thomas declared, “My Lord and my God” after he saw for himself the wounds of Christ. Thomas was accepting and declaring Jesus as Lord and Savior. Thomas saw Jesus resurrected so his faith was visually verified, but blessed are we who have not seen yet still believe.

After our acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior, we then trust in Him to lead us, to sustain us, to protect us, to shield us, to heal us, to provide for us, and we then worship Him. Trusting is not easy, particularly for an American Christian. We tend to want to take control of things ourselves and be master of our destinies, and be the lead dog, and all those other directions we take from our American culture. But we must trust in Him as a small child trusts his father to catch him as he jumps from a ledge…without any fear or reservation.

The Bible is full of many passages and commands for us to apply our faith and trust in our Lord.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight”
(NIV) Proverbs 3: 5-6

“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord is the Rock eternal.”
(NIV) Isaiah 26: 3-4

Trusting requires a confident faith. However, as we yield in trust; God will sustain us. How do I know that? I believe God at His word. I also know that God is omnipotent, that means He has all the power. He has already seen the future and all events have gone through His sovereign knowledge and wisdom. God is unchangeable or immutable – rely on God to never change. He is what He always has been and will not change. God is omnipresent. He is everywhere. If He is everywhere, then there is nowhere that He isn’t at, nor is there any situation that He is not aware of. So, if God is in everything, we can apply our faith confidently in trust since God is in that situation.

"God I thank you for all your wonderful blessing and the knowledge that You are in control”

Realize your need for Jesus as Lord and Savior, submit to Him, trust in Him and the question of “Now what do I do?’ will be answered.
